What are Candidate Questions in Apply Workflow?

Often, a recruiter or hiring manager wants to know some specific things about candidates who are applying for jobs at your company.  These questions might be specific to your company or your industry.  

A company can configure questions for a candidate to answer in an Apply Workflow.

You can create a set of questions that can be applied, in any combination, on any Apply Workflow.

When creating a question, a question can be of the following types:

  • Yes/No
  • Short answer questions (a 1-line edit box)
  • Long answer questions (a multi-line edit box)
  • Date Question (a single date selector/calendar)
  • Multiple Choice/Single answer (a drop down where the candidate chooses a single answer)
  • Multiple Choice/Multiple answer (a series of checkboxes, candidate can choose 0 to many)
When you are creating your Direct Apply workflow, you can choose which questions and the order of the questions to ask the candidate.  As well, you can determine if the candidate must answer the question (required).  Questions can be asked of the candidate on a dedicated "Questions" step, or on the Final Page.

When a candidate applies for a job, they will then be asked the questions.  Required questions are indicated and the candidate cannot continue to the next step if the required questions are not answered.

Implementation Notes
  • We recommend choosing questions carefully.  Focus on questions that are a must for all applicants to answer.  If you have too many questions, the candidate will be more likely to not complete the application.
